The casing of the lipstick will vary, some are made of plastic and some of metal. The metal casing will naturally leave a silver finish once engraved, however the plastic won't. I will apply a silver wax finish to the plastic so it has a similar finish to the metal casing (see the photo of the Mac lipstick). The plastic engraving may also be rough to the touch, depending upon the plastic used. I know some brands will be made of metal, so please get in touch before ordering if you're not sure and I can advise as best I can.
How does the engraving work, I hear you ask?
1. Order your engraving with me here.
2. Order the item and arrange for it to be posted to me (please email me at hello@lk-designs.co.uk for my address with your order number and the lipstick brand/colour you'd like engraving). I will not release my address until the order has gone through.
If you're posting yourself, please ensure the lipstick is well packaged with lots of bubble wrap and paper within the box, to prevent breakages/knocks/bumps! Paying for postage online with the Royal Mail can also work out a bit cheaper than the Post Office.
Or save on postage by ordering the lipstick directly to me from the retailer. Just don't forget to order the engraving first, in order to get my address ☺️
3. Once the item has been received with me, I will draft up the wording you've requested in the personalisation box and send to you for approval.
Wording options include one word with this listing, such as "[Name]", "Bride" or "Mrs [Surname]", and a short date.
4. Once approved, I'll engrave the item for you.
5. The item will then be posted to you in its original packaging and postage will be tracked with Royal Mail.
The Tracked 48 service is included as standard. There's an option to upgrade to Tracked 24 at checkout if you'd prefer. Postage is only available within the UK.
